The Daphne Dress
This unique little girls dress is my adaptation of an antique white one purchased long ago with crisscrossed and hand crocheted insertions. My updated version features unusual crossed embroidered insertions on the front and back bodices along with a lace and insertion band on bodice tops and shoulders. Very wide matching Swiss embroidered edging is used for sleeve flounces. Gathered lace encircles the squared neckline. The skirt is attached with entredeux to the completed bodice, and the back placket closes with 3 buttons and a snap. The Daphne Dress is available in girl's sizes 3-6, and in pastel satin batiste and selected cotton prints. Heirloom techniques covered in class include: French seams (including sleeves), insertion to lace, lace to entredeux, entredeux to gathered fabric & flat fabric, installing a back placket, hand whipping lace to entredeux. This is beautiful and different spring and summertime dress for your special little one! This is an all heirloom machine class (no hand work) and will be a SAGA approved 12 -hour class.
